Let's compare two different setups side by side.

(1) IT as the Creator of Technology: In this scenario, IT is the sole creator of technology. Everyone in the company—HR, marketing, sales, operations, production, finance, legal—relies entirely on IT. Their contribution to the process is limited to requesting automations to be created by the IT team. Now, imagine this company has 1,000 employees. How many requests do you think will be submitted?

Close your eyes and picture your IT team buried under this mountain of requests. In fact, you don't need to imagine—just open your eyes and you'll see it happening in your company right now.

(2) Departments as Autonomous Innovators: Now, imagine a different scenario. HR, marketing, finance, legal, sales, operations—everyone at the organization not only comes up with ideas based on their deep domain expertise but also implements them immediately, with AI at the core of their automations.

Close your eyes again, but this time, picture a rocket ship launching from the ground, taking your entire organization beyond the sky.

Too good to be true? The French government did exactly that on a large scale. They involved 1,400 public employees who created over 270 digital products by decentralizing the process and empowering teams to take control. They realized it would be a vicious cycle if they waited for public employees to share their specialized knowledge with the IT team, only for IT to be swamped with hundreds of tasks. So, they invested in transforming their teams into autonomous units.

Now, imagine a marketing department that can develop its own AI automation. They could experiment with different targeting strategies and campaigns at lightning speed. This agility allows them to quickly identify high-performing campaigns and iterate on them, driving up ROI and accelerating revenue generation.

The power to innovate is now in everyone's hands.

If your sales department could easily integrate AI into their workflows, they'd be automating prospect research, outreach, engagement, and more. The impact would be immediate and impressive.

This approach is a far cry from the old way, where teams waited on IT, losing precious time—and market opportunities in the process. When departments are empowered to build their own AI solutions, they effectively expand their workforce without adding headcount. It's both cost-effective and efficient, a combination that's hard to come by.

When employees can solve problems using AI, they're not just doing their jobs---they're driving innovation. And that makes them more engaged and invested in the company's success. In turn, the enterprise benefits from a workforce that's not only specialized but also a creator of relevant technology.

In summary, successful AI adoption empowers your teams to create AI automation by themselves.
